Result – significant sentence reduction.
Client was accused of $300,000 in false wire fraud transactions related to false purchases of consumer goods. We were able to argue against the US attorney’s office that the loss amount that they believed our client was responsible for was false!
The judge agreed with us and significantly reduced the federal prison sentence that he was looking at. Originally, our client was looking at 51 months, but we successfully argued for a downward departure to 26 months!
